Uganda: Mavel signs contract to supply Nyagak project

Mavel has signed a contract to supply two turbines for the 3.5MW Nyagak hydroelectric power project in Uganda.
Last August, The West Nile Rural Electrification Company (WENRECo) announced that it began construction of the US$8.5M project, which includes building a 1kW 33kV transmission line to serve Nebbi, Arua and Koboko.

Mavel is subcontracted for its supply with Skodaexport, the EPC contractor. Mavel will supply two Francis horizontal turbines for the new plant located on the Nyagak river in Uganda's West Nile region. The commissioning of the plant is scheduled for December 2007.
