Mauritania: Spain powers rural electrification with $2.5mn

Spain would finance a €2mn (about $2.5mn) electrification programme in Mauritania, the West African country announced on Thursday.
The programme would connect 4 000 rural households in central and eastern Mauritania to the country’s electricity grid.

The government said that the connections would help fight poverty by increasing local energy sources.
