Israeli desert experts are set to install 30 windmills in Nyatike Constituency to help pump water from Lake Victoria to remote parts of the area. Local MP Edick Anyanga said the windmills already under construction would be used to pump water and generate electricity in Nyanza’s remotest constituency. "We have already completed five wind mills, work is on and we do hope that by the end of the year, water supply in various households will be a reality," he said. "Nyatike is as dry as Israel, that is why we have invited our friends to help us out of a problem they experienced before," Mr Anyanga said. Additional information: News date: 12/01/2009 |
